Dont Compare Yurself to Others

Do you think you are different from everyone else?

If yes, then go ahead and celebrate that, don’t compare you with anyone else.

In this game called life, we all offer a different and unique perspective which is something to be thankful for.

If you are constantly comparing yourself to someone else, it means you aren’t happy with who you are or what you see.

Why is that?

Our society dictates conformity. Therefore, if you feel or are meant to feel you don’t fit within the norms of society, you are often looked upon disapprovingly.

What we as a society fail to come to terms with is most humans will never fit in that category of “normal” in the truest sense of the word. We all have quirks and idiosyncrasies. It’s these differences that allow us to find solutions to problems.  This also keeps us from being more like robots. Imagine if everyone were truly the same. There would be nothing new to discover in the world we live in.

Are there things we should conform to in society?  Yes, absolutely! For instance, you need to follow the rules and laws of your community, country… Otherwise, you will suffer the consequences of not doing so. Also, you want to treat others with respect so that they will return that respect.

Being your unique self, however, in some cases is outside the norm of what others would expect of you, may well allow you to live a much fuller life and not one based on what others think or believe is best for you.

When you decided to become an entrepreneur were there others either talking you out of it or thought it was just a crazy idea.  Of course, there were.

Be Yourself

Kudos to you for understanding that you can be different from everyone else.

Now that you are an entrepreneur, why are you comparing yourself to others in the same space?

If you were courageous and confident enough to break away from conforming to society’s vision of what and who you should be, then get out of the habit of comparing yourself to other entrepreneurs.

So many online business owners I’ve encountered come into this space wanting to be like that person who is making a million dollars. Thinking all they need to do is attend an event or call and they will get the magic number to solve all their problems.

The plain reality is,  not everyone will make a million dollar each year, as we all can attest.  Yes, we can follow and buy from that person but there is something unique about them that is simply not innate in us.

So find what works for you and be genuine about that. Comparing yourself has often led people down the wrong path in business which can easily lead to burnout. You might also find yourself resenting those people.  When you know who you are and what you want, you realize that it will take time to get there. They have their reasons for being the way they are, and it has nothing to do with you.

There are qualities you admire in others and there is nothing wrong with trying to adopt some of those admirable qualities within yourself. However, it shouldn’t get to the point where you are trying to redefine who you are to be like those people you admire. You’re not them, and you never will be.

We all have but a short time on this planet. If we spend most of that time trying to be like someone else, we are all in for a rough ride.

So, stick to who you are and find others willing to accept you for that you are going to be more satisfied, and others will be happier with the real you as well. You won’t consider yourself an imposter.

Just think about those who are not true to themselves. How long did it take you to see through that disguise?

Don’t be afraid to show your unique abilities in everything you do!
